Emotional Intelligence Class

Dr. Steven Phillips

Emotional Intelligence is the ability to understand and use human emotion as a source of
insight, trust, creativity and influence. By developing your emotional intelligence, you will deepen your relationship with others, increase your leadership potential, and enrich your personal and professional life.

Participants in this course first complete the “BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory,” the most well-researched and well-validated questionnaire for measuring emotional intelligence available today. Through the use of this instrument, participants receive not only a Total Emotional Intelligence score, but also scores on the five components of Emotional Intelligence: Intrapersonal Functioning, Interpersonal Functioning, Stress Management, Adaptability, and General Mood.

During the remainder of the seminar, participants focus on the development of empathy, perhaps the most important interpersonal capacity of the emotionally intelligent person.
